I love my Roomba Red. It has really changed the way I live and has made my place cleaner than I ever thought possible. Let me explain.
Every morning, my wife and I leave for work. Before the last person leaves, they walk around the house really fast and make sure that the place is roomba-ized. That means, we have to make sure there are no socks or any other loose items on the floor. I love it that we now have a big reason to clean the clutter from the ground EVERY day. We then push the clean button, and go to work. When we get home from work, the Roomba is sitting on it’s home base, charged and ready to go. The house is also very clean.
The Roomba is not a device for those who are not a bit techno-savvy, or those who do not like to do maintenance on machines. Maintenance is very important for the Roombas. You need to empty the bin and filter every time you use your Roomba. You should also clean out the brushes every other time you use the machine. I use some canned air to clean out all the parts I can’t reach by hand once a month.
I have gone through 3 roombas since I have started my robotic adventure, and every bad roomba can be attributed to poor maintenance.
There is a full 1 year warranty. If your roomba doesn’t work right, call up the folks at iRobot, send in your brush guard, and in a few weeks you will have a whole new roomba (except battery).
