I previously owned a bagless Hoover, which I absolutely LOVED, but was open to the idea of a bagged vacuum - provided that it worked well. My Hoover had lasted about 6+ years, and I’d used it about 2-3 times a week, since we have three indoor cats & two children. I basically ran the motor out of it one day, and was desperate for a new vacuum.

Since I didn’t have a lot of time to research reviews, I contacted a friend who owns a vacuum cleaner store. He said that lots of maid services & commercial cleaning agencies bought the Panasonic and had rave reviews about it.

Obviously, the cleaning services don’t mind dirt being scattered about (instead of being sucked up!).

I have hated this vacuum from the day I bought it. When I use the attachments, there’s so much suction that you could suck up a small child. It grabs any sock, toy, rug, cord, or anything within a 3 foot radius, and that’s the end of whatever it gets. The suction is so powerful with the attachments that you’d think the vacuum cleaner part (with the beater brush) would be great….. it isn’t.

The beater brush only BEATS the dirt. It doesn’t actually suck it up. Every time I vacuum, I feel the dirt (or crackers, or pretzel piece, or whatever) coming back and hitting my feet! The other day, I went over a popcorn kernel FIVE times before it finally went “POW!” and flew underneath the couch.

I’m so fed up with this vacuum! I wish I had my $180 back so I could spend it on a decent machine!!!! And I won’t be asking my friend (who owns the vacuum store) for his opinion this time!
