Rainbow…This vacuum is a pot of gold! I have had my Rainbow for two and a half years now, and have been consistently amazed at its performance.
I purchased the Rainbow through a home salesman-something I never do, for a whopping $1500-something I NEVER do! However, I have been pleasantly surprised with my investment.
The whole premise behind the vacuum, is that it sucks all your dirt, dust and debris into a water-filled canister. The water keeps everything from escaping and blowing back into your air. It also keeps the tubing and motor from becoming clogged with wads of dirt. The Rainbow is so effective as a dust absorber, that the salesman plugged it in and showed up how much dust and pollen it pulled from the air, just sitting there! Yuck!
The Rainbow includes various scented oils you can put in the water to scent the room. It is easy to pull around on the wheels and it is easy to switch from one attachment to another. The Rainbow comes with, or has available, a series of attachments which are handy for ceiling fans, tile floors, baseboards, under refrigerators, etc. I also purchased a carpet shampoo attachment and a mopping squeegee. These last two attachments sounded really cool, but I haven’t found them to be worth the time it takes to set them up and use them.
The biggest downside to the Rainbow is that it is not convenient to just whip out and clean any little mess. If I get it out and set it up, I ‘d better be ready to vacuum the whole house!
All in all, the Rainbow is not so easy to set up, but is easy to use and maintain, and cleans better than any vacuum I have owned before. If I had to do it all again, I would definitely scoop up this pot of gold!
