I purchased my unit through Sharper Image’s auction site. Mine cost a mere $60.00. It was $60.00 well spent! Despite the last reviewers comments about water and other waste leaking through the unit, I have never had that problem. The vacuum has great suction for a vacuum its size. My dog recently had surgery, came home, and lapped up 1/2 a gallon of water, which she eventually threw up on my carpet. I whipped out the vacuum, and it sucked up virtually all of it.

The steamer unit works very well, in my opinion, but steam alone does not take stains out. I use the steam along side some cleaners. There is a commercial grade carpet cleaner that I’ve only seen at Home Depot that does wonders with the carpet.

One big caveat! Do not steam blood stains. I had a cut that leaked onto the carpet. I used the steam option, which actually helped to cake the stain into the carpet. It turned the stain from a bright red into a black, like it was cooked into the fabric. Just use a good chemical cleaner.

All in all, I really like the vacuum. I recommend it~!
