I too sold Rainbows door to door while in my late teens. At that time they cost 1500.00 including the carpet shampooer. Personally, I refuse to sell any product unless I have complete faith in it and this one was no exception.

Years later, while married to an engineer who thought he knew everything, a Rainbow store opened in our town. I decided I wanted one really badly as I knew all the advantages of killing the dust mites, cleaning the air, and eliminating dust.

Well, he said no. He indicated his company supplied a part for the BEST vacuum in the world; called Rexair, and he might be able to purchase one at discount. We went back and forth on this with me saying the Rainbow is the best and that’s what I wanted.

Finally I had a Rainbow salesperson come to our home to do the sales pitch to my husband.

As he flipped through his pages, there was a picture of the manufacturing plant with the name in front-Rexair.”Stop, I said, go back.” The man turned the page back and said that’s who makes the Rainbow.

My husband and I had been arguing over the same item, both steadfast in our belief each was best. Haha I won.

I finally was able to purchase a reconditioned Rainbow Series E for 599.00. That was 15 years ago, and it still works like a charm.

We also have an upright very expensive vacuum. We have used that one and then immediately after ran the rainbow over the carpet. The water is filthy and we don’t even allow shoes to be worn in our home!!!!!

It works like a charm on both carpets and hardwood floors.

There are reconditioned on the internet for less than I paid. Don’t be afraid to buy an older model, except the newer ones may weigh a little less.

Can suck the dust out of the air right into the water if you just leave it running without the hose. Maybe add some scent they sell to freshen the home.

You can put pillows, cushions, comforters etc.. in a bag, hold the plastic bag around the hose end tightly, and it will suck all the dust and mites out of it, making a huge pillow the size of an average notebook.
