This vacuum is very well built and designed, has very few repairs, and maintenance. It was designed for durability, but because it was designed for durability there are features that can affect its ease of use. I really did love the way it adjusts to the right carpet level and it goes a marvelous job of grooming carpets. I especially liked the edge cleaning on both sides and it really does clean right to the edge of the floor board. It has wonderful filtration and really cleans and grooms the carpets well. It will lower completely so you can vacuum under beds and has very little height so it will fit under furniture. You just have to put it right to the floor to push it under and back out. It is a bit more difficult than a canister vacuum because of the 5 inch bulk of the upright body. However, I was expecting it to be easier to push. My carpet has a higher pile and it takes more strength than my other vacuums to push it back and forth. The vacuum bags slide right in and when you close the handle down on the vacuum cover it locks the bag in tightly so there is no dust leaking out. It has excellent filtration and is great for people with allergies. The hose is very short, and the end of it is about 2 feet of hard plastic so it is difficult to dust with (no movement). The brush attachments are not the natural horse hair, but a stiffer nylon which can scratch fine furniture.

The brush does adjust to the right level for hard floors, but does not turn off so there can be more wear to the floor over time. There is a lot of forward movement on hard floors because of the aggressive brush action, so you have to fight that forward motion by constantly holding the vacuum back. If you let go of the vacuum it will easily travel across the room and bang into walls or furniture, however, if you lock the vacuum in the upright position it will turn the brush roller off to you can dust without the forward movement. This vacuum is excellent for picking up fine cat and dog hair and does not blow it up in the air like other upright vacuums. However, because of the brush action, fine gravel, pebbles or larger particles will get spit back out on a hard floor. I just pick these up because the vacuum will not suction them in. There is no suction adjustment so with the aggressive brush roller it will easily suck up small throw rugs and chew them up before it turns off automatically. I accidentally caught two throw rugs already and it ate up the rubber backing on them.

This vacuum is a vacuum repairman’s dream with little maintenance, but for the owner it does have some flaws. If you have mostly carpet that has a low pile you will like it. I felt it was expensive when considering the problems.
