I was a big skeptic of the roomba and its claims. I downloaded every video and read every review about this machine before I took the near $500.00(CAD) plunge into the robot vacuum business. Well, I could not be happier. I am absolutely thrilled with the performance of this machine. We live in an area that is constantly dusty (dirt roads), and we live with 2 dogs and 3 cats. Needless to say, dirt, dust and fur are our worst enemies.

The roomba does an excellent job of hunting dirt and cleaning up pet hair. Everytime I empty the roomba I pull out a mass of animal hair and at least a half cup full of dirt and dust. I run the machine every day. We used to have to sweep the floor every day. Now, we set the roomba before we leave in the afternoon and when we return, it is back at its home base charging away.

I would recommend that uses clean the roomba frequently. I take out the brushes and remove the cat hair that gets entwined in the axels. I clean the roomba like this after a big job, such as cleaning 800 square feet.
