The wife bought our Rainbow E2 bagless vacuum at one of those home shows 5 years ago. Of course, my maiden voyage with this machine was when she was out of town. I had seen it used once before and knew that I would have to fill it up with water and add a cap full of their deodorizer air freshener. This is part of the water bath filtration feature which traps the dirt in its water reservoir and truly keeps the dust down. After some fumbling around I got the thing put together and was ready to go. It worked great, especially picking up dog hairs. When I was finished using it that day, I put it back in the corner.

She returned home after two days and asked how things went. I told her that I used the new vacuum. She asked. Did you dump the water out? I knew I was in trouble. First rule with a rainbow vacuum, always promptly dump the water out in a toilet and clean out the tank for its next use. If not, the foul smell will make your eyes water.

The Rainbow vacuum is a multi-tasker, proudly made in the USA. It is a wet-dry vacuum and room de-odorizer. It has two speeds, hi and low. Running it on the low setting is for cleaning the air in your house via HEPA neutralizer filtration. The hi setting is for cleaning applications. Vacuuming is comfortable with its trigger control on the nozzle. These features come in handy if you’re a pet owner.

There are several accessories available that allow you to clean carpets, squeegee floors, clean/refresh pillows and cushions, and vacuum stairs and automobiles. The manufactures web site www.rainbowsystem.com is very informative.

The negative sides would be the set up and teardown of this unit. If you have a quick job, the effort to use it tiresome. I keep a hand vacuum available for small clean ups. Some people might not like using their toilet to dump the waste water out of the tank, not a problem for me. When you want to purchase any accessories you will need to seek out one of their authorized dealers.

The things I really like about the Rainbow bagless are its powerful vacuum strength and ability to pick up embedded dog hair. With all the attachments, reaching my high ceiling fan blade edges to remove dust is a snap. The Rainbow is quieter than a conventional vacuum and leaves your house clean and fresh after each use.

Although the Rainbow is pricier than a conventional vacuum, it will last longer making the front end expense worth it. The over all warranty is four years and the motor is guaranteed for eight. Aside from a few minor inconveniences its performance is great. I recommend and still use this product.
