Roomba is great , not sure about iRobots though.., - iRobot Roomba Intelligent FloorVac Robotic Vacuum I love my Roomba and I couldn't imagine life without it. Now I have to because if your Roomba breaks and is over ...

I’ve been using roomba since it first appeared on the market. I was impressed. I now have the discovery & scooba. I recently upgraded my original roomba to the roomba sage due to a promotional sale from irobot to do this offering savings. I received my sage and after charging the battery overnight I began to use my sage. To my disappointment it did not work. It made a buzzing noise. I called the customer service number and was told to buy a can of air and spray the cliff sensors with it. I was also told to beat on the bumper and wheels. I was told that if the can of air did not work that I may try an air compressor. If none of these repairs worked I was told to recontact customer service for instructions for return.

After trying the can of air that I had to purchase I contacted customer service and received instructions on the return. I removed the battery and all the other accessories as instructed. When my husband got home that evening he said that he would try to blow the sensors out using the air compressor and did just that. The vacuum still did not function. I repacked it, this time forgetting to remove the battery, and took it to ups for return. I realized that I had mistakenly left the battery in the robot and again called customer service. I was told that I would not get another battery unless I paid $9.95 for shipping because they did not ask for the battery back. They would not sway from this period. My point is this……..

1.I purchased a robotic vacuum (I did not ask for a BROKEN one)

2.I spent my time trying to repair my new roomba (per cust. ser. instructions

3.I had to buy a can of air ($14.95)

4. I had to pack it up, take it to ups, and pay $20.12 to have it returned.

5.I was forced to pay $9.95 to get my battery back.

The total cost to me was $45.02 to return the sage for replacement. Now I ask you, does that seem fair? They may not have asked for the battery back but nor did I ask to purchase a broken robotic vacuum. irobot corp. is not the only company that sales robotic vacs. I will take my business elsewhere from now on
