As with any steam cleaner, you will not have your carpets looking "just like a professional cleaner had cleaned them". The ProHeat does a fine job on carpets,stains and all. It easily outperforms a Hoover Cleaner we retired upon its purchase. However, there are certain design flaws with the machine that will be sure to infuriate even the most patient of souls. First, emptying the dirty water…. I don’t know about you, but I have dogs and kids, both of which REQUIRE a Steam Cleaner in the house. The last thing I want to do after cleaning up miscellaneous bodily fluids is to have my hands coming into contact with those substances. It is physically impossible NOT to have this happen with the design of the storage tank. Second, we owned the machine one month, before the the O-ring on the cap to the storage tank mysteriously disappeared (probably in a gush of putrid water as I was emptying it!) This incident cost me approximately $6.79…. $.79 for the part and about $6.00 for shipping from Bissell. Irritating? Yes, but I got over it. Two months later, the attachment hose snaps in two, for no apparent reason other than perhaps it could not live without the O-ring that had been flushed months earlier. Now I am extremely frustrated, but will never return the infernal machine, after all what will do if an "accident" occurs when I am ProHeat-less. There aren’t enough paper towels in the world, I assure you!
