I bought my Dyson after going through numerous vacuums over the years. I Love it. My old vacuum,(a Kenmore), had gone out AGAIN, and this time was not repairable. Pet hair is a major problem and other vacuums can not handle it without burning out. The Dyson comes with a lifetime belt and is bagless. The level 3 Root Cyclone technology spins the dirt and debris out of the air through a series of three cyclones. It has a motorized brushbar for pick up across all floor types. I had been researching this Dyson animal series and decided to purchase it, rather than spend more money on vacuums that die in less than a few years. I was amazed, (and disgusted!) at the junk that came out of my carpet. I have several small pets and was surprised at the grey matter the Dyson managed to extract from my fairly new carpet,(less than a year old). I have allergies, and my son has asthma, and this vacuum cleans the air with a Hepa filter,(washable). The instructions for assembly were simple. This unit is very easily handled, lightweight and easily turned. The attachments work well, without losing suction. The telescope wand, (located in the handle) can reach 16 feet. I bought my Dyson from Sears, originally for $598.00, however, I recently found online at other stores for $549.00. Sears demonstrated the vacuum for me and answered my questions. The other stores, Lowes, Home Depot, Kohls, do not do this, and that was important to me because of the amount of money I was spending. It is easy to clean out and has a lifetime washable filter and no bags to buy. I would buy this vacuum again. I recommended it to my sister-in-law and she purchased one as well. She is very picky about her house and is very happy with this model.
