Not impressed with this Model

Positive Gets a lot of dirt and pet hair out of carpet.
Cons: Takes everything else with it. No indication when bag is full. Breaks down too easily.

I had heard that Panasonic made good vacuum cleaners but my experience with this model had not been good. The handle is supposed to attach with a screw, but the holes didn’t align properly so I had to use it without - luckily it held. The first day using it I was impressed with how much dirt and cat hair it was able to pick up until I got a little too close to my CD player’s electrical cord which was sucked into the agitator bringing my Sony CD player crashing down to the floor. I know Sony and Panasonic are rivals, but this is ridiculous. I turned off the switch as quickly as I could and unwound the mangled and ruined cord from the agitator, then proceeded to vacuum. After a couple of minutes a corner piece of rug got caught in the agitator and smoke started spewing out of the machine accompanied by a horrible burnt rubber smell. I’m returning this and trading it in for something else.

I purchased about 7 of these Panasonics about 1 year ago and I am very pleased. We are using them in a commercial

environment and they are doing fine in fact I have some others real simular that I have had since 2000 & 2002, sure when they get older under this abuse they require parts and eventually the roller brush housing usually wears out but the motors always remain strong and semi quiet. I am very impressed with the quality of these vacuums. If you want a good vacuum for your home and you don’t worry about flashy gadgets and colors this is the vacuum to have it does its job and does it well. In a home environment and properly maintained I would think this vacuum would last 10 years with no problem and probably no parts other than bags and maybe a belt. There are a couple

models up from this that offer more filteration which is a plus but this is still a good vac.
