Although pricey, I feel this is a very good appliance. I like that you don’t push dirty water around like mopping does. The bad part is the frequent dumping of dirty water and refilling with clean. It cleans floor beautifully. No residue left from soap and dries fast. For large areas of tile it takes a very long time to get the job done. Mopping may be faster but the floors will not be as clean as doing them with the Hoover Floormate. This would be an ackward appliance for elderly people to use. I also found that it did leak when in upright position and I couldn’t figure out where the water was coming from.
