We got this vacuum for our wedding gift and we absolutely love it. I’m in the remodeling business and I was amazed at how well it picked up sheet rock debris and saw dust. I hardly have to use my shop vac at all since we’ve gotten this vacuum. It’s filter is also way easy to clean. Everything can be cleaned with water and left out to dry before use. This Dyson vacuum is the best vacuum I’ve ever used or had and way worth the money spent on it.
Style The vacuum has a well designed shape, unfortunately the shape isn’t so good for function at times. It doesn’t fit under most furniture and when you want to use the hose you have to take off the entire cord completely because of the way the cord storage is set up. But it does have easy handling, good grip and good transitioning from carpet to bare surfaces.
Price We bought our vacuum refurbished from the factory via their internet site and it works just fine and we’ve had it for 2 years. We only paid $300 for it when they are usually $400 or more. I would suggest looking at the refurbished vacuums first because they still come with warantees and you really can’t tell that it’s not brand new.
Suction This is a VERY powerful vacuum. When we first got it we vacuumed our living room with our old vacuum and then used this one just to see if it really did pick up what other vacuums miss and I was amazed at how much crap our old vacuum didn’t pick up. The suction does however get week when the bagless storage is full, but all you have to do it empty it and it’s back to normal. And if you get something stuck in the hose line it’s easy to clean out because there are several compartments that are accessible to open and retrieve whatever is causing the clog.
Maintenance There is practically no maintenance like there is with other vacuums. There are no bags to buy first of all. And the filter can be cleaned and reused for years without having to buy a new one. No air filter to clean and the compartments it does have are easy to clean with just water. And since it works really well there’s no burnt electrical smell because of clogged hose or vacuuming up something too big.
