Wow. I was so excited to get this vacuum! But I was so disappointed when I used it. I had it one day and sent it back. Personally I thought they were crazy to charge $400 for this vacuum.

First of all it looked and felt cheap. It’s light weight, all right, but at the expense of the look and feel of quality workmanship.

Second it was REALLY loud! The vacuum I was replacing was a Kenmore Whispertone that I absolutely loved! So when I turned this thing on and heard how loud it was I was shocked!

Then I actually tried to vacuum with it. Oh my gosh. It was terrible to try to push this thing. It didn’t glide at all. It felt like it was going to wear my carpet because of the way I had to force it to move. The “automatic height adjustment” is a great idea, but didn’t seem to work really well.

I knew right away that I was not satisfied at all with this vacuum cleaner. I called Oreck and told them that I thought their vacuum was in no way worth $400. That must be how they make up for giving away canister vacuums and irons. I was totally unimpressed. If I’d seen this sitting on a shelf in the store for $400 I would have laughed! I probably would not pay more than $75 for it.

Guess I have to go against the grain on this one and say it was a true disappointment.
