My second Dirt Devil in three years died, so I knew it was time to look for a different brand of vacuum cleaner. This time I found the Runabout on sale at K-Mart, and figured, why not. Had to buy something with my $100 gift card. The one I purchased was a 16.0 amp, with lots of attachments. Attachments are undoubtably a must in this house.

I got it home, plugged it in, and man, this sucker is loud. My bird about had a fit and nearly fell off his cage. Guess that’s the price you pay for more power. It does suck things up much better than my Dirt Devil did.

The bags on this one are supposed to filter most of the dust and such, rather than blowing it into the air. I do notice a slight difference with these bags as I do not start sneezing when I am done vacuuming.

Another good point is it’s fairly light compared to other vacuums I’ve used. Still a little difficult to push though.

Overall, I am pleased with the vacuum, but do have some minor frustrations with it.

1) I hate where the On/Off switch is located. Its halfway down the back of the vacuum and on the side. What a pain!

2) I hate how I have to attach the hose into this little hole, and it really doesn’t want to go in there. Maybe I’m just spoiled from other vacuums I’ve used where the hose is already attached.

So, while it isn’t exactly built for convenience, it still has good functionality. I’m not unhappy with my purchase.
