We researched vacuums as we needed one that would get rid of the pet hair we have from our yellow lab. It is everywhere.

We specifically got the DC14 Animal for this purpose. The vacuum is very good at removing the pet hair from carpets. We were surprised at the amount of hair it picked up even though we had just vacuumed with another brand of vacuum.

We were, however, very disappointed in the performance of pet hair removal on our furniture. We called Dyson and they sent us another “pet hair” attachment. It still was not effective. We again called Dyson. They are very cooperative and gave us a suggestion for removing a rubber type of gasket in the attachment. This did work but still not great at removing pet hair.

The only effective way we have found is using the hose directly on the furniture with no attachment which is tedious but does the job.

The hose is also awkward to use when you are in small, tight spaces trying to vacuum. It is not flexible enough (because the metal wand is in the flex tube.

We do like the vacuum but were disappointed in the effectiveness of pet hair removal. I’d suggest buying the cheapest model without the attachment as you really don’t use the attachment.
