I own a Dyson DC07 animal vac which I have had for a little over a year now. I love this vacuum cleaner, it is incredible if you own pets. I was all set to buy another one for my summer home when I saw the advertisement for the Infinity vacuum.
I had a 20% coupon for Linens and Things so I purchased the Infinity. First though, I made sure I could return it if I didn’t like it. Remember, I have a Dyson so the comparison to anything else is going to be tough. I brought the vacuum home and my husband put it together for me, it took two minutes. I hadn’t vacuumed yet that day so I took the Infinity and did my carpet in the family room, (this is where my dogs spend most of their time).
The vacuum did quite well, after I went over the entire area, I brought out my Dyson and went over the same area. It pickup more from the carpet but not too much.
I then went and did my formal living room. It did a really good job on the plush carpet.
I don’t have much carpeting in my summer home, I have some orientals and and a few area rugs so the Infinity will be great up there.
The things I don’t like about the Infinity is that the canister is TOO SMALL. There is an absolute design flaw in this setup. The inner screen tube inside the canister is too long thus causing the dirt and debris (dog hair) to stay up inside the tube, there is no place for the stuff to fall. The Dyson’s inner tube inside the canister is 1/3 the length of the Infinity and the dirt/debris just falls right into the canister and it doesn’t clog. I have to keep sticking my fingers up into the infinity and pull out all the dog hair. The other thing is the attachment tools are flimsy and seem to be cheaply made.
Over all I like the suction of the vacuum, it has the extended handle and a long cord so you can cover quite a bit of area without having to keep plugging it in everywhere.
This vacuum is priced right for what it does. Would I replace my Dyson with it the answer is no.
