The Hoover FloorMate is designed to clean hard floors from dry debris and regular mopping, but it is also great for cleaning up spills.

The Hoover FloorMate can easily become your best friend…just don’t expect too much from it. It seems that many people believe the FloorMate will either save them from ever cleaning their floors again or that it will do the most perfect job…it won’t…but it’s a lifesaver anyway.

The machine is light weight and has a long cord…2 things that are essential. The clean solution tank is a little on the small side, but it’s not too bad especially since if it were larger it would add to the weight of the machine. The dirty solution tank would be better if it held more water but it holds enough to get the job done. The dirty solution tank can get very nasty from the dirty water, the dirt on the floors…this is one disgusting part on the machine.

The machine does a great job at everyday cleanings of your hard floors. The FloorMate will scrub your floor and then suck up the dirty water leaving the floor mostly dry. The machine is NOT good at cleaning the edges of your floor. There will be times where you need to get down on your hands and knees and still clean around the edges or clean up something that is REALLY stuck on…but for everyday, get your floor clean cleanings…the FloorMate is GREAT. You will probably find yourself cleaning around the edges of the room from time to time.

There are specific cleaning products for the FloorMate which are sold in many stores including Target and WalMart. The prices can be kind of high but I have found that you do not need to use as much cleaner as the directions specify.

The Hoover FloorMate has help up beautifully after over a year of heavy use. My floors remain clean on a more regular basis then before the machine because it’s easy.

So the FloorMate is a lifesaver…but don’t expect it to do everything and also don’t expect your floors to stay clean longer…it’s not a miracle worker!
