My friends call me as Super shopper, because I always end up finding the best product at the best price! They even ask me sometimes to go with them to the store when they’re looking to purchase something that they are not very familiar with determining the differences between products. I usually do a lot of homework, but mostly rely on “on the spot” evaluation, comparison, and decision making. I’ve recently helped two of my better friends when purchasing new vacuum cleaners. The one bought a Dirt Devil Swivel Glide, which featured swivel casters, and which is super easy to maneuver because of the casters and the suction is great. Another friend with 2 cats and a dog, bought the Eureka Whirlwind and had a few problems with clogging, but his was bagless and featured a Hepa filter…a real plus especially with pets or health concerns.

I just had new carpeting put in about a month ago, and was inspired to buy a new vacuum for myself…I was on a budget, but wanted something reliable, attractive, bagless, and with a Hepa filter. There were two bagless’ on sale at Kmart, and my choice for the on-sale price of $139 was between the Eureka Whirlwind or the Dirt Devil Vision Lite, model 88650, which was in my opinion better looking and better designed. It also weighs less than the competition and uses a great double filter combination that does very well with picking up pet hair and regular dirt.

A real breeze to assemble, my new toy worked amazingly well from the first time I used it…on my new carpeting! The suction is top rate, and even with using the attachments on the furniture, and curtains, etc, the Vision Lite didn’t overheat even though under continuous use for almost a half hour. Needless to say with that much air being passed through the Hepa filter, the air in the room is left cleaner than before you started vacuuming…a real health benefit!

My only disappointment with it is the too-short-length and not-too-stretchy-quality of the attachment hose. It was a bit of a stretch to do much of anything and tipped the vac over once or twice…I’m more careful now and don’t really mind too much considering all the other value priced features it has that work even beyond expectation. The simple dial to change from floor to hose seems to me should last longer than some other designs I’ve owned…and I actually like the foot power switch, which gets easier to use once you get the hang of it.

In conclusion, I’ve already demonstrated it to a few friends… one of which was impressed enough to buy one for herself! Another success story for my shopping prowess!!
