Yes, it sounds like a stretch, but my wife loves to keep a clean house and we went through three other vacuums before biting the bullet and spending what we needed to to get a great product. This was it.

I bought this VC after reading the reviews on e-opinions and comparing it to the Dyson canister VC. After adopting a cat, I felt an increasing need for a more flexible as well as powerful VC that gets all the pet hair.
This VC is perfect for a small to medium size apartment. It works equally great on carpet as on hardwood floors. I love the lightweight, though sturdy canister design. Finally, vacuuming is no longer a full body workout. I’m actually looking forward to it! After, everything is free of dust and cat hair.
Though there are plenty of less expensive canister VCs, this one is worth the price.

I’m surprised by the other good reviews. I find this vacuum very underpowered, to the point of frustration. Though quiet and smooth to wheel, it leaves a surprising amount of dirt and dust behind. Also, bags are expensive and small, so they need changing often.
For much less money, I would suggest a Hoover or other basic brand.
