The Floormate is supposed to suck dry and wet and mop.
I have ceramic tile.
I also have 5 shedding dogs who tend to track mud into the house when it rains.
I bought the Floormate for quick clean-up - but it is neither quick, nor does it clean like my mop and broom or vacuum can.
The Floor Mate does not reach into corners with its suction, which my vac does. It takes endless back and forth over paw prints to lighten the track - not clean it completely.
My husband and I tested the Floormate versus my mop and broom. He did half the living room with the Floormate (he is the more patient of us two), while I took my broom, dust pan and mop to the other half.
Result: I was done in way less than half the time, all the corners were clean and free of dog hair, the grout lines of the tiles were clean, and I was taking a break, while hubby was still running the Floormate over the grout lines.
The only thing that I was impressed with was the wet suction. After I mopped the floor, it was still wet, of course, and my husband went over the area with the Floormate drying the floor almost completely in next to no time. - but I have a shop vac already.
Another drawback was the cleaning after use. Hairs and dirt get trapped in nooks and crannies, it was pretty tedious to clean so I could take it back to the store.
