I purchased this bagless upright vac for $100 at Rex after reading several reviews online of the EC-T5180.

I had originally planned to buy the 5180 model, but after I checked it out, wasn’t too happy with how you released the handle when ready to vacuum. I went home, got back online, and tried to find something else to buy. A few days later, I was on my way to buy a Bissell bagless, and something told me to go back and take a second look at the Sharp at Rex. (It had such good reviews for an inexpensive vac!)

When I got there it was nearly closing time, and the store employee was vacuuming…. with a brand new Sharp vac they had just gotten in that same day. The 5380 model had been designed to replace the 5180, and had all the features I wanted- 12 amp bagless, washable hepa filter(actually it has 2 other filters too!), adjustments for carpet or bare floors, on board attachments, easy to empty dirt cup and suction like you wouldn’t believe!

I’ve had several brands of upright vacs, Eureka, Dirt Devil, and 2 Fantoms, but none of them had the suction that my new Sharp has, especially from the hose when using the onboard tools! It claims to be ‘library quiet’- 15% quieter than other vacs. I don’t know about the library part, but it is quieter than my old Fantom, and alot easier to push around. My only “complaint” is that the suction hose and the electrical cord could be longer. But, for the power I got, I can unplug it, and plug it in to another outlet when I need to vacuum further than the cord will allow. I can also get by using the plastic extension wands hooked up to the suction hose. All in all, I am happy with my Sharp, and when this one eventually kicks out, I will most likely look for the latest Sharp model.
