Introduction
In September of 2003, I began working for the first time in my married life of nearly nine years. With all of my children in either pre-school or elementary school I had mornings free and I received a dream job offer.
A local bed & breakfast (Wilson Ranches Retreat, http://www.wilsonranchesretreat.com) is owned by the parents of a dear friend. I was offered a job working three hours a day (the time my kids were all in school), four days a week (school here only runs Monday through Thursday) doing housekeeping.
It’s not that housekeeping is the most thrilling thing in the world–I do it every day at home–but it is nice to have a little extra money and something to keep my mind off the fact that my kids are all in school and growing up.
The Tools of the Trade
There’s a complete difference between cleaning my own home and cleaning at the B & B. At work I have all the nicest tools to get the job done, from the swivel-head floor mop to the Euro Pro Hepa Shark canister vacuum!
While I do not own the Euro Pro Hepa Shark, I do use it on a daily basis. In fact, I probably use it more than I use my own personal vacuum at home.
Euro Pro Hepa Shark
The Euro Pro Hepa Shark is a lightweight canister vacuum. It weighs one pound only, so it’s very easy to tote around as you clean your floors. You also have the option of wheeling it around, pulled by the hose. I find that I tend to bump into things quite often so carrying it is a better option for me, and it’s light weight makes it a breeze.
The Euro Pro Hepa Shark has a nice, long cord㪩 feet–that makes it easy to get into most places in your home. It’s great for cleaning stairways, so long as there is an outlet within a reasonable distance. In addition to its long cord, the Euro Pro Hepa Shark has a built-in handle for easy carrying.
The Euro Pro Hepa Shark has a lot of power for such a little vacuum. With a 1200 watt motor, it can really pick things up. The website claims it will hold two sixteen pound bowling balls at the same time, but I have serious doubts as to weather anyone would ever need to pick up anything anywhere near that heavy. That’s a little bit of overkill in advertising in my opinion.
One of the best features of Euro Pro Hepa Shark is its true Hepa filtration system. Anyone who has allergies, or a child with allergies, knows how much dust can get kicked up by a vacuum. This little wonder puts no detectable dust back into the room!
Uses
As I have already alluded, the Euro Pro Hepa Shark is great for vacuuming stairs because of its long cord, swivel head, and light weight.
My main reason for loving the Euro Pro Hepa Shark comes from the fact that it does what no other vacuum I’ve ever used could do–vacuum vinyl flooring without throwing bits and pieces all over the room. It truly picks things up off of bare floors, saving you the step of having to sweep before you mop!
One thing the Euro Pro Hepa Shark doesn’t do especially well is vacuum carpets. It will do the job, but it takes a little more time because it doesn’t seem to want to pick up lint or strings very easily.
My Experiences
For two and a half months I have been using the Euro Pro Hepa Shark, and so far I love it!
I am no longer sweeping floors, throwing particles around the room. I simply plug in the Euro Pro Hepa Shark, push a button, and get rid of all the dust, dirt, and debris from the floors.
I adore the ‘cord keeper’ on the Euro Pro Hepa Shark. Rather than the annoying and tedious job of winding a vacuum cord (as with most uprights and many canisters) all I have to do is push a button and the cord retracts automatically!
I’ve never seen a vacuum that could actually handle vinyl floors before, so this little baby has me in awe. It’s light weight makes it a dream come true!
Recommendation
I highly recommend this vacuum.
If you’ve got a lot of vinyl, or even hardwood flooring, it will save you time and mess and leave you with a wonderfully debris-free floor.
Even if you don’t have a lot of vinyl, it’s still a handy little vacuum and it’ll make your life a lot easier.
